In the opinion of the Board of Judges, OWNER/TRAINER/DRIVER, JAMES DAVID JUNGQUIST, PERM. In the opinion of the Board of Judges, OWNER/TRAINER/DRIVER, AUTHORIZED AGENT, JOHN BRANDON SCOTT CAMPBELL, PERM. ADD.: CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA, D.O.B. JULY 5, 1983, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 458(2)(a)(ii)(c)(ii); At any time while on the grounds of an Association, it is a violation of the Rules for a driver, or the person in control of the horse, to engage in any of the following actions with respect to their driving conduct: excessive action, which is characterized by unreasonable quantity or degree, including using the whip continuously and/or without allowing the horse time to respond; At any time while on the grounds of an Association, the whip shall only be used for safety purposes and for very light encouragement. The only movement allowed to encourage a horse is a movement of the wrist. It is a violation of the Rules for a driver, or the person in control of the horse, to use the whip to hit or make contact with the horse as follows: to use more than acceptable wrist action; while driving “ROCKIN ROLLER” in Race 8, Saturday, May 10, 2025.

In the opinion of the Board of Judges, OWNER/TRAINER/DRIVER, BLAINE PAUL COLE CHAPPELL, PERM. ADD.: OLDS, ALBERTA, CANADA, D.O.B. APRIL 13, 1996, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 123(1) Any person responsible for a horse stabled at a Horse Racing Alberta licensed race track must provide proof of a negative Equine Infectious Anemia (Coggins test). The test must be dated within the past 12 months (365 days) and submitted at least 48 hours before admittance to the race track. Proof of the negative test must be reported to Horse Racing Alberta Security. For full requirements, refer to Policy RLP012 Equine Infectious Anemia Policy; for bringing onto the grounds of Century Downs Racetrack and Casino, a horse that did not have a negative Coggins test.

PENALTY: BLAINE CHAPPELL is hereby FINED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS ($250.00).

DECEMBER 17, 1991, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 123(1) Any person responsible for a horse stabled at a Horse Racing Alberta licensed race track must provide proof of a negative Equine Infectious Anemia (Coggins test). ADD.: VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA, D.O.B.: AUGUST 12, 1962, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 123(1)(2); Any person who is responsible for a race horse stabled on the grounds of a race track for the purpose of racing must ensure that a negative test for equine infectious anemia (Coggins test) dated in the preceding 12 months (365 days), has been issued with respect to that horse. No person may bring a horse onto the grounds of a racetrack or permit the entry of a horse onto the grounds of a racetrack, unless a certificate of a negative test for equine infectious anemia has been issued with respect to that horse in accordance with subsection (1); for having a horse on the grounds with an expired negative Coggins test.

PENALTY: BRENT BODOR is hereby FINED THE SUM OF THE TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00), AND SUSPENDED AND DENIED THE PRIVILEDGES OF THE GROUNDS (INCLUDING GRANDSTAND) OF ALL RACETRACKS IN ALBERTA THAT COME UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF HORSE RACING ALBERTA FOR A PERIOD OF THIRTY (30) CALENDAR DAYS. Having SERVED one (1) day of his SUSPENSION, April 12, 2025, Mr Bodor is hereby SUSPENDED FOR 29 CALENDAR DAYS, APRIL 16 TO MAY 14, 2025 (INCLUSIVE). Following his suspension, provided BRENT BODOR pays his fine and provides a negative sample test at his own expense, he will be considered for re-instatement.

A reduced penalty may be considered after fourteen (14) days, if BRENT BODOR has met with the Manager, Backstretch Development, and the Manager, Backstretch Development makes a recommendation for a re-instatement as outlined in HORSE RACING ALBERTA Drug and Alcohol Policy dated September 1, 2019. BRENT BODOR must also meet with the HORSE RACING ALBERTA Director, Regulatory and Supervisor of Racing before re-instatement.

WHEREAS on August 23, 2024, the Board of Judges issued Harness Ruling #55 dated August 23, 2024, and Harness Ruling #56 dated August 23, 2024, against OWNER/TRAINER/DRIVER, AUTHORIZED AGENT, JOHN BRANDON SCOTT CAMPBELL, PERM. ADD.: CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA, D.O.B. JULY 5, 1983, and WHEREAS on or about August 26, 2024, Mr. Campbell filed a Notice of Appeal with respect to Ruling #55 and Ruling #56 and WHEREAS on August 29, 2024, the Alberta Horse Racing Appeal Tribunal issued a stay of Ruling #55 and Ruling #56 until a hearing of said appeals could occur; and WHEREAS the appeals of these Rulings were scheduled for March 13 and March 14, 2025, and WHEREAS Mr. Campbell and HORSE RACING ALBERTA have reached a resolution of the issue under appeal.

It is ordered by the Director, Regulatory and Supervisor of Racing that, for a violation of HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 286(a)(b), to wit: A person violates these rules who, in the opinion of the judges/stewards board, conducts themselves in a manner prejudicial to the best interest of horse racing, or does not comply with these or any other rules; as per HORSE RACING ALBERTA Harness Ruling #46 dated July 23, 2024, for an incident with the track maintenance personnel on Saturday, July 17, 2024. JOHN BRANDON SCOTT CAMPBELL is hereby SUSPENDED TWO (2) DAYS (DRIVING ONLY) WITH CONDITIONS TO BE PLACED ON HIS LICENCE.

The two (2) day penalty is as follows: JOHN BRANDON SCOTT CAMPBELL, as agreed to by the parties, will be SUSPENDED AS FOLLOWS: September 5, 2025 is stayed and September 6, 2025 will be suspended (driving only).

WHEREAS on December 13, 2024, the Board of Judges issued Harness Ruling #98 against OWNER/TRAINER/DRIVER, PHILIP SYLVIO GIESBRECHT, PERM ADD.: FORT SASKATCHEWAN, ALBERTA, CANADA, D.O.B. DECEMBER 23, 1988, and WHEREAS on or about December 14, 2024, the Alberta Horse Racing Appeal Tribunal issued a stay of Harness Ruling #98 until a hearing of said appeal could occur; and WHEREAS the appeal of this ruling was scheduled for April 3 and April 4, 2025; and WHEREAS Mr. Giesbrecht and HORSE RACING ALBERTA have reached a resolution of the issues under appeal.

It is ordered by the Director, Regulatory and Supervisor of Racing that, for a violation of HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 458(2)(b)(v), to wit: The whip shall not be used on a horse in a race where the horse has passed the winning post at the finish of a race; while driving “GRAMPIAN ROAD” in Race 8, Friday, December 6, 2024.

PHILIP SYLVIO GIESBRECHT is hereby SUSPENDED THIRTY (30) CALENDAR DAYS (DRIVING ONLY) WITH CONDITIONS TO BE PLACED ON HIS LICENCE.

The thirty (30) day penalty is as follows, PHILIP SYLVIO GIESBRECHT , as agreed to by the parties, will be SUSPENDED AS FOLLOWS: September 7 to September 13, 2025, suspended (driving only); September 14, 2025, no suspension; September 15 to September 30, 2025, suspended (driving only); October 1 to October 7, 2025, suspended days are stayed.

JULY 5, 1983, and WHEREAS on or about August 26, 2024, Mr. Campbell filed a Notice of Appeal with respect to Ruling #55 and Ruling #56 and WHEREAS on August 29, 2024, the Alberta Horse Racing Appeal Tribunal issued a stay of Ruling #55 and Ruling #56 until a hearing of said appeals could occur; and WHEREAS the appeals of these Rulings were scheduled for March 13 and March 14, 2025, and WHEREAS Mr. Campbell and HORSE RACING ALBERTA have reached a resolution of the issue under appeal.

JOHN BRANDON SCOTT CAMPBELL, is hereby SUSPENDED THIRTY (30) CALENDAR DAYS (DRIVING ONLY) WITH CONDITIONS TO BE PLACED ON HIS LICENCE.

The 30 day penalty is as follows, JOHN BRANDON SCOTT CAMPBELL, as agreed to by the parties, will be SUSPENDED AS FOLLOWS: September 7 to September 13, 2025, suspended (driving only); September 14, 2025, not suspended; September 15 to September 30, 2025, suspended (driving only); October 1 to October 7, 2025 suspended days are stayed.

Appeal fee to be forfeited.
