Rocky Mountain Turf Club would like to propose the wording or Directive No. 241-2026

What specific problems or concerns are involved in this issue?

With the current wording of Directive 241-2026 “A horse is not permitted to start more than twice in any previous twenty one (21) day period.” This resulted in some horses being only able to run on a Sunday or Monday.

Who does the issue affect?

Race office had to adjust races days that races would run and the number of races as well as dates for Stake races. Had to accommodate the days the horses could run once they trainer had entered .

What existing HRA rules relate to this issue?

the original rule was Rule 157(t)(3) then a directive was issued 241-2026

What solution does this proposal provide?

It would allow horses more of an opportunity to run either Saturday or Sunday and not just on Sunday or Monday

It would allow horses more of an opportunity to run either Saturday or Sunday and not just on Sunday or Monday

How will the change affect any entities or stakeholders?

It would allow horses more of an opportunity to run either Saturday or Sunday and not just on Sunday or Monday This would also help filing the race card and have a balanced race card.

What are the benefits of the proposed change?

It would allow horses more of an opportunity to run either Saturday or Sunday and not just on Sunday or Monday This would also help filing the race card and have a balanced race card. Owners and trainers would be able to get their horses in the race that best suits their horse, because due to the 21 day rule they may not be able to enter that best race for the horse.

What are the possible drawbacks of the proposed change?

Do not see any drawback. This would be a positive change.

The stakeholders that RMTC did approach all were in favor of the rule change as it would help their own race cards
