Ruling H101-2025

MEETING: Century Mile Racetrack & Casino, Alberta, Canada - October 25, 2025

In the opinion of the Board of Judges, DRIVER, DAVID PAUL HUDON, PERM. ADD.: SURREY, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA, D.O.B.: FEBRUARY 16, 1964, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 458(2)(a)(ii)(c)(i)(d)(i); At any time while on the grounds of an Association, it is a violation of the Rules for a driver, or the person in control of the horse, to engage in any of the following actions with respect to their driving conduct: excessive action, which is characterized by unreasonable quantity or degree, including using the whip continuously and/or without allowing the horse time to respond; At any time while on the grounds of an Association, the whip shall only be used for safety purposes and for very light encouragement. The only movement allowed to encourage a horse is a movement of the wrist. It is a violation of the Rules for a driver, or the person in control of the horse, to use the whip to hit or make contact with the horse as follows: to raise their hand(s) above their head; A driver, or the person in control of the horse, is required to: keep a line in each hand for the entire race, from the starter's call to the gate until the finish of the race, except for the purpose of adjusting equipment; while driving #8 “THEREALLKENTS” in Race 7, Friday, October 24, 2025.

MEETING: Century Mile Racetrack & Casino, Alberta, Canada - October 24, 2025

In the opinion of the Board of Judges, OWNER/TRAINER, AUTHORIZED AGENT, GLENN EDWIN LUTZ, PERM ADD: FOOTHILLS, ALBERTA, CANADA, DOB: APRIL 21, 1961, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 134(2)(b)(ii)(3); If a horse is on the EIPH certified list, its trainer or the trainer’s licensed representative must, before the horse competes, if a Standardbred, the trainer or his authorized representative must report with the horse to the test barn at the appointed time for the injection and assist if required, the administration of furosemide. The stewards/judges board must scratch a horse from a race if the requirements of this section are not met; thereby causing “UP YER KILT” to be scratched unnecessarily from Race 3, Saturday, October 18, 2025.

In the opinion of the Board of Judges, OWNER/TRAINER, CHRISTOPHER GEORGE CURRIE, PERM. ADD.: CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA, D.O.B. JULY 11, 1994, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 287(1)(xiii)(A)(B); A person also violates these rules who, unless the person is the official veterinarian or a licensed veterinarian or an animal health technologist, has in their possession, or in their effects, or under their control, drugs, hypodermic syringes, needles, or any like paraphernalia at or near a race track or stable area, or in premises or accommodation occupied on or near the grounds of a race track; for having in his possession paraphernalia under his control during the findings in a barn search conducted at The Track On 2, Friday, September 19, 2025.

Drivers shall be permitted to remove a foot from the stirrups during the course of the race solely for the purpose of pulling ear plugs and once these have been pulled, the foot must be placed back into the stirrup. SEPTEMBER 23, 1983, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 298(1) and 300(1)(a); In accordance with Section 16 of the Act, a racing official designated to carry out inspections and other functions and duties under Section 16(1) may on, at or near a racetrack, on demand, take samples of breath and bodily fluids from a racing participant. A racing official or racing participant violates these rules if they report to work with blood/alcohol concentration reading of more than 50 milligrams of alcohol in one hundred milliliters of blood.

In the opinion of the Board of Judges, OWNER/TRAINER, AUTHORIZED AGENT, BRINSLEY MARIE BROOKING-LUTZ, PERM. ADD.: CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA, D.O.B. OCTOBER 24, 1990, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 123(1)(2); Any person who is responsible for a racehorse stabled on the grounds of a racetrack for the purpose of racing must ensure that a negative test for equine infectious anemia (Coggins test) dated in the preceding 12 months (365 days), has been issued with respect to that horse. No person may bring a horse onto the grounds of a racetrack or permit the entry of a horse onto the grounds of a racetrack, unless a certificate of a negative test for equine infectious anemia has been issued with respect to that horse in accordance with subsection (1); for having a horse shipped in without a current negative Coggins test.
