MEETING: Century Mile Racetrack & Casino, Alberta, Canada - October 31, 2026
In the opinion of the Board of Judges, OWNER/TRAINER, REBECCA LEE KANAK, PERM.ADD.: SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN, CANADA, D.O.B.: MAY 15, 1999, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 130, 134, 286 (1)(a)(b) and 296(1)(a)(2)(f)(g).
130: EIPH eligibility requirements (1) The official veterinarian may certify a horse as eligible for the EIPH Program after the horse has been examined with endoscopy by a Horse Racing Alberta licensed veterinarian to verify the horse does have pulmonary hemorrhage, and the trainer verifies, on a prescribed form, that they have determined that it would be in the horse's best interest to race with furosemide and be placed on the EIPH certified list. (2) The official veterinarian must certify a horse as eligible for the EIPH Program if the Stewards/Judges Board or the official veterinarian certifies, on a prescribed form, that (a) they have received documentation that the horse is qualified for the EIPH Program in another jurisdiction, (b) the certification is made by a veterinarian in the other jurisdiction who performs the duties ordinarily performed by the official veterinarian in Alberta, (c) and the other jurisdiction is recognized by Horse Racing Alberta for the purpose of this section; 134: (1) A person entering a racehorse in a race meeting must disclose on the entry form that a horse is on the EIPH certified list; by entering and racing “PLAYTIME JIMMY” on Lasix without being certified on the EIPH program in race #8 on Friday October 23, 2026, and thereby causing the horse #2 “PLAYTIME JIMMY” 2nd place finisher to be DISQUALIFIED and DECLARED UNPLACED.
Horsemen’s Bookkeeper is hereby instructed to redistribute the purse money as follows:
- 2nd - #4 “DAYO DAYO”
- 3rd - #1 “DOMEAGAIN SUGAR”
- 4th - #5 “GOTCHABYTHETOGA”
- 5th - #8 “HF FAITHATFULSPEED”
PENALTY: REBECCA KANAK is hereby FINED THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00).
In accordance with HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 297(1) fine to be paid within ten (10) days.
(Failure to pay the fine by November 10, 2026, will result in automatic suspension of license)
