In the opinion of the Board of Judges, OWNER/TRAINER/DRIVER, PHILIP SYLVIO GIESBRECHT, PERM. ADD.: FORT SASKATCHEWAN, ALBERTA, CANADA, D.O.B. DECEMBER 23, 1988, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 460; Drivers shall keep both feet in the stirrups during the post parade, while in front of the grandstand, and from the time the horses are brought to the starting gate until the race has been completed. Drivers shall be permitted to remove a foot from the stirrups during the course of the race solely for the purpose of pulling ear plugs and once these have been pulled, the foot must be placed back into the stirrup. If a driver’s foot is in or out of the stirrup, he or she shall not allow his/her foot to hit a horse in any manner; while driving #2 “POKER QUEEN” in Race 2, Wednesday, August 27, 2025. In the opinion of the Board of Judges, OWNER/TRAINER/DRIVER, FARRIER/PLATER, CHRISTOPHER ADAM BROWN, PERM. ADD.: WAWANESA, MANITOBA, CANADA, D.O.B. NOVEMBER 20, 1986, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 458(2)(a)(ii)(c)(ii); At any time while on the grounds of an Association, it is a violation of the Rules for a driver, or the person in control of the horse, to engage in any of the following actions with respect to their driving conduct: excessive action, which is characterized by unreasonable quantity or degree,including using the whip continuously and/or without allowing the horse time to respond;At any time while on the grounds of an Association, the whip shall only be used for safety purposes and for very light encouragement. The only movement allowed to encourage a horse is a movement of the wrist. It is a violation of the Rules for a driver, or the person in control of the horse, to use the whip to hit or make contact with the horse as follows: to use more than acceptable wrist action; while driving #2 “GO ON BOW BOW” in Race 9, Sunday, August 24, 2025.
PENALTY: CHRISTOPHER BROWN is hereby FINED THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00).

In the opinion of the Board of Judges, OWNER/TRAINER/DRIVER, JACQUES WILFRED LAMBERT, PERM. ADD.: RED DEER COUNTY, ALBERTA, CANADA, D.O.B. After having received confirmation of a POSITIVE TEST from Dynacare Laboratories dated August 27, 2025, for an illicit drug, JOCKEY, ANASTASIOS CHALARIS, PERM. ADD.: LEDUC COUNTY, ALBERTA, CANADA, D.O.B. OCTOBER 7, 1986, is hereby FINED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) AND DENIED THE PRIVILEDGES OF THE GROUNDS INCLUDING THE GRANDSTAND OF ALL ALBERTA RACETRACKS FOR A PERIOD OF THIRTY (30) CALENDAR DAYS.
Having served one (1) day, Mr. Chalaris is hereby SUSPENDED TWENTY-NINE (29) CALENDAR DAYS FROM WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2025 TO OCTOBER 1, 2025 (INCLUSIVE). A negative test must be provided at the offender’s expense before re-instatement.
A reduced penalty may be considered after fourteen (14) days if the offender has met with, and received the approval from, the Manager, Backstretch Development, for re-instatement.
