On Sunday, October 11, 2026, while in the Steward’s stand following the running of Race #5, we (Stewards) received a call from the test barn at 3:14 p.m. stating that there was a wrong horse sent to the test barn.  We had sent 1st place finisher “WITT’S DUBAI GAL” and 2nd place finisher “IT AIN’T LIKE THAT”.  “WITT’S DUBAI GAL” was identified as the wrong horse.  Mike Charlton (HORSE RACING ALBERTA Security Investigator) verified the chip on the horse who was under the control of the test barn and the test was abandoned at 4:12 p.m.

At the conclusion of our investigation, OWNER/TRAINER, EXERCISE PERSON, DARCY WARREN SMITH, PERM. ADD.: NANTON, ALBERTA, CANADA, D.O.B. AUGUST 28, 1965, is hereby FINED THE SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) for bringing the wrong horse to the paddock who was not properly identified and finished 1st in the ‘Fillies Oaks’.  Therefore the #2 horse “WITT’S DUBAI GAL” has been DISQUALIFIED from 1st and declared UNPLACED in Race 5, Sunday, October 11, 2026.

The Horsemen’s Bookkeeper will redistribute the purse money as follows:
