Ruling B039-2026

MEETING: Evergreen Park, Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada - August 19, 2026

OWNER/TRAINER, COLTEN CHARLES MEAD, PERM. ADD.: LETHBRIDGE, ALBERTA, CANADA, D.O.B. NOVEMBER 20, 2000, is hereby FINED THE SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) for his misconduct while in the paddock confronting a jockey who was returning back to the jockey quarters following the running of Race 5, Saturday, August 15, 2026.  In accordance with HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 62g Every trainer’s licence is subject to the following conditions: (a) the licensee will comply with this Act and these and any other rules; and (b) the licensee will use their best endeavours to promote the purpose and ensure compliance with these and other rules; and HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 286g(1)(a); A person violates these rules who, in the opinion of the judges/stewards board, conducts themselves in a manner prejudicial to the best interest of horse racing; (2) All licensees shall conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and orderly manner while on the grounds of any licenced racetrack or during any racing-related activity under the jurisdiction of Horse Racing Alberta, (3), (4) and (5).

In accordance with HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rules 287(1)(xxviii) and 296(1)(a)(d)(2)(a).

In accordance with HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 297 fine to be paid within the (10) days.

(If fine remains unpaid after ten (10) days from its imposition, any licence held by the participant shall be suspended until the fine is paid in full, unless the Board of Stewards otherwise directs.)
