The Board of Directors of Horse Racing Alberta has extended the employment contract of their President & CEO Shirley McClellan to end June 30, 2018.
The new Century Mile Racetrack and Racing Entertainment Centre at the Edmonton International Airport is scheduled to open on July 1, 2018. There is substantial documentation and plans to be completed before the opening. Ms. McClellan has been involved from the start and the Board felt that continuity was most important through to the opening of the Century facility.
The Board, in early 2018, will create a CEO Search Committee to insure that a new CEO is in place for a smooth and orderly transition.
