Fresh off his win in the Adios Pick the Harold Haining trainee Sonic Spark turned in a career best of 1:54.1 triumph in the third and fastest of the three eliminations of the Alberta Plainsman on Sunday June 15th. Drivin by Travis Cullen the son of As Promised extended his winning streak now to three. The board favorite paid $3.60 $2.80 $2.10. Pass The Port (Giesbrecht) was second two lengths back for trainer Sam Johnson and Outlaw Gunpowder (Marino) crossed the line third eight lengths back.
In the first elimination of the Alberta Plainsman we saw Outlaw Last Chance (Campbell) easily win his division by six lengths. The grey son of Brandons Cowboy left from the post seven and aggressively went to the lead and was on top at the first quarter in 28.1. Outlaw Last Chance continued to control the race and comfortably crossed the line in 1:55.3. Get Thereovernight for driver/trainer Keith Clark was a convincing second over Donttelldaddy (Marino) who took third prize.
Sotally Tober(Gray) also put in a swift performance winning his elimination of the Alberta Plainsman in 1:54.2. Six lengths back was Comes Comes First (Marion) for trainer Lance Ward. Finishing off the top three was Regina Beach for trainer Sanford Campbell. The favorite Sotally Tober paid $3.50 $3.10 $2.10.
The $51,900 final of the Alberta Plainsman will be Sunday, June 22nd at Alberta Downs. There is no doubt these talented 3yr-old AB Sired Glamour boys will be ready to face off and do battle in the ninth race. Post time will be approximately 3:55PM. The morning line 2-1 favorite Sonic Spark will leave from post six with regular pilot Travis Cullen. Second choice is Sotally Tober at 3-1 with Jamie Gray driving and third choice is the talented grey Outlaw Last Chance with John Chappell holding the lines.

Alberta three-year-0ld fillies were back in action this past Saturday for the eliminations of the Alberta Princess. Nighttraintovegas, Blue Monday and Mothers Melody all put in great efforts to win their respective eliminations. The Final will be contested this Saturday, June 21st at Alberta Downs. The girls will line up behind the gate in the ninth race for the $52,500 final.
