Super Final Recap

Play Me Right shows his heart with Super Final win at Northlands Park

Play Me Rightand J. Brandon Campbell once again went right to the front, but they had to work for the lead and he held that lead the entire mile as he scored in $75,000 Super Finals for the Glamour Boys.  Play Me Right went to the lead and as they hit the opening quarter mark in 27.2, Play Me Right got a stern challenge from favored Premium Attaction who came right to him and took the lead as they came by the wire first time around.  Kelly Hoerdt wanted to clear up front with Premium Attaction, but Play Me Right held his position down on the rail and forced Premium Attaction to race wide through a opening half mile in a sharp 55.4 seconds.  Premium Attaction was done and backed up through the field as they went to three quarters in 1:24.4 and Play Me Right got fresh challenges from Blue Star Admiral and Tip Top Tap.  Play Me Right kicked away turning for home, but he was getting leg weary as Tip Top Tap and Tinhorn Creek both came roaring down the center of the course.  But Play Me Right found the wire in time, completing the mile in 1:55.1 and winning by half a length over Tip Top Tap.  Tinhorn Creek finished up in third while favored Premium Attaction finished last.

GT’s Selene all the way to win the Super Final for Three year old Fillies

Gt’s Seleneand Travis Cullen went right to the lead and stayed there as they took home the big honors in the $75,000 Super Finals for the three year old fillies.  Sent

Weekend Wrap Up 11/1—11/2

off at odds of 6/1, Gt’s Selene blasted out from their  number six post position to grab the lead through an opening quarter of 27.2 and a half in a more relaxed 57 seconds.  Cracker’s Hot Shot, the big race favorite came up to challenge Gt’s Selene going to three quarters, but Cullen got Gt’s Selene to respond and kick clear coming to the top of the lane. Cenalta Fireworks burst onto the scene late, but came up just a neck short as Gt’s Selene held on for the win.  Crackers Hot Shot finished up in third.

Blue Eyed Cowboy flies late to take the Super Final for two year old boys

Blue Eyed Cowboy was far back early on but far ahead when it mattered most as he won the $75,000 Super Final for two year old boys.  Sent off as the heavy 2/5 favorite Blue Eyed Cowboy was sixth early on as Pass The Port went out and set the pace of 27.3 to the opening quarter.  Pass the Port was really able to relax in the second quarter which went up on the board in 58 seconds.  Blue Eyed Cowboy came moving second over as they went down the backstretch, and William Tainsh got him into position as they reached the top of the stretch.  Pass The Port still had a little something left, but once they straightened up, Blue Eyed Cowboy had plenty left in the tank and just mowed by to open up and win with ease, scoring by three and one quarter lengths in the end. Comes Home first was able to rally up to get into the second spot while the early pace setter Pass The Port finished up in third.

Kinda Funky Shocks the Super Final Two year old Fillies

Kinda Funkywasn’t given much of a chance by the bettors, but she didn’t know her odds as she scored by a head at odds of 53/1 in the $75,000 Super Final for Two Year Old Fillies.  Breaking from the rail, Kinda Funky found a good spot in third early on for Gerry Hudon as favored Nighttraintovegas went out to the front through a quarter in 28.2.  Kinda Funky got caught behind runners Blue Monday came up to join Nighttraintovegas and Triple Action as the pace setters began to collapse in mid-stretch.  Kinda Funky and Gerry Hudon stayed glued to the rail and a huge hole opened up down on the wood and they came through.  Kinda Funky had to battle it out with Blue Monday, a 15/1 long shot in her own right, for the final few yards, but Kinda Funky held on to win by a head over Blue Monday.  Nighttraintovegas ran third.
