It's the final day for harness racing at Century Mile, before the standardbreds head on to Century Downs - just north of Calgary - to begin a brand-new race meet there on Saturday, February 26. That means there'll be plenty of MANDATORY PAYOUTS to chase after on this program - the 'force outs' will be the Race 8 PICK 5, Race 9 PICK 4, Race 12 HI5 and the Race 12 Superfecta. There's also some Carry-Over action as well in the Race 1 PICK 5 ($1,978.37) and the Race 5 Jackpot HI5 ($1,465.46)...
Pure Edition comes into this weekend 6 for 6 in 2022... There's not another racehorse in Canada showing a half-dozen wins this early in the season and she'll leave from post 2 in Race 7 for the ownership group of Chris Lancaster and Rob Ostashek Holdings Ltd. Lancaster handles the training duties and Phil Giesbrecht will stay aboard for the drive - the mare is listed as the 4/5 morning line favourite.
