Alberta Bred For Cash Captures Zia Park Derby

Alberta’s own For Cash upset the field yesterday at Zia Park winning the $200,000 Zia Park Derby in New Mexico .

For Cash came from behind the field, and was forced five wide winning by half a length at odds of 16-1, paying $34.60. The race was at the mile and 1/16 distance. 

For Cash is Owned by Lyle and Phyllis Farkash and is trained by Dale Greenwood. For Cash becomes the first Canadian horse to win the Zia Park Derby. This is the biggest win to date for Alberta Bred For Cash.

In the same race Broadway Empire finished ninth and was forced to slow due to an injury.
