Equine Herpes - Virus-1 (EHV-1) Neurological Disease
Two additional cases of EHV-1 neurological disease have been reported at the riding stable in Bucks County, PA, USA where there has been an ongoing outbreak of the disease the past 10 to 14 days. Both affected horses which exhibited limited rear limb ataxia, had been febrile several days ago but were afebrile at the time of onset of clinical signs. The total number of cases of EHV-1 neurological disease on the premises currently stands at eight, of which four had to be euthanased. The riding stable is under quarantine restrictions until further notice.
