"We have a great lineup of races, complete with parimutuel wagering. One of our real fun races is the stock horse race and we even have a pack horse race, a real fan favourite last year.
"Of course there will be serious Thoroughbred races as well." There'll be six horse races at the Millarville oval with the first race set for 1 p.m.
A five furlong run for Fillies and Mares, three-years-old and upwards, kicks off the card with five horses running for $5,000. The field includes the RMTC's Laine and Chase. Also look for Mystical Dixie, Valentino McBean aboard, Ticklemeterrellmo, She's A Go Go Girl and Daddy Vany from Jim Depew fill up the field.
Another five horses line up for the second race, a five furlong affair for three-year-olds and upwards, racing for $5,000. At The Badda Bing and On The Hill from Lyle Magnuson are among the field. Also look for Unspoken Thoughts, Gin Fizz and Nellie Pigeau's entry, Box Top.

"The Millarville Sprint Stakes has five horses heading for the gate in a five furlong, guaranteed $7,000 race," said Gibb. "There are some good horses in here including Jim Depew's Pure Vertical, and Lucky Thirteen from Darcy Ralph. Larris Allen and Lyle Magnuson team up for Private Swing and rounding out the field is Eighty Eight and Five De Mayo.
"The Millarville Derby will be our sixth and final race, covering a mile and an eighth for a guaranteed $8,00 purse. There are six horses in here with Teagan Oulton aboard Rascal Cat and Lyle Magnuson is in here with Mamoonya. Jim Depew's Full Impact is entered along with Larris Allen aboard Pipestone Flyer and Vincent Alvin Palmer in the irons with Lotta Jazz.
'This is quite a lineup and the racing promises to be great. We have top trainers, riders and horses, all of whom race at Whoop-Up Downs in Lethbridge for the Rocky Mountain Turf Club." Among the other activities there'll be a beer garden and a smaller version of the well-known Millarville Farmer's Market.
Kids aren't forgotten, with foot races, a sack race, and three-legged race. Great oldtime fun.
And there's lots more! "This is a true family event and a great way to spend your Canada Day," says Gibb.
