It was an early Christmas for Max Gibb and the Rocky Mountain Turf Club
The CEO of the RMTC, has his race dates for the Whoop-Up Track in Lethbridge, 42 dates to be exact and then, Friday, July, the RMTC presents the Millarville Race Meet.
Racing for the 2016 race meet in Lethbridge, featuring Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses and Paints, begins the weekend of May 14-15 and runs each weekend through July 2-3.
“Our Fall Meet will run from September 3-5 through each weekend until October 15-16, all three-day cards in the Fall.” says CEO Max Gibb.
“As well, June will have 12 race days, with three-day weekends. We have eight days of racing in October, including a four-day meet, Oct. 7-10. September is our busiest month, with 13 race cards Sept. 3-5 through Sept. 24-26.
“We’ll also be back at Millarville July 1 for that historic race meet, with it thousands of fans and its old-time fair-like atmosphere.”
Back in the RMTC racing office will be Race Manager Dot Stein, who featured some terrific racing this past fall.
“We experienced a great Spring and Fall meet last year, and I’m certain 2016 will be a great year for the Rocky Mountain Turf Club,” said Gibb.
“As we head into the Christmas and New Year season, on behalf of the RMTC I would like to wish all our horsemen, fans the people of Southern Alberta, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
