They’re the speed horses of the sport and you have an opportunity to purchase a quality Quarter Horse this month. Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m., the annual Yearling Quarter Horse Mixed Sale and Stallion Service Auction will take place.
The sale is set for the Lethbridge Exhibition’s South Pavilion, with the auction handled by Perlich Brothers.
The Alberta Quarter Horse Racing Association, under the direction of president Ross Brigden, is overseeing the sale.
The AQHRA was re-incorporated under the Societies Act of Alberta in 1984. The mandate of the association is to promote the development and breeding of Quarter Horses, and to promote Quarter Horse racing within the province.
Beside a quality selection of Quarter horses up for auction there will also be a Stallion services auction.
In racing, in order to qualify for Alberta-bred bonuses, horses must be accredited as Alberta-breds by the AQHRA. It is not enough to merely have Alberta as location of a foaled horse on the registration certificate.
Well-known trainer at the RMTC, Buckey Stockwell, is the sale chairman.
Sale catalogues can be attained on the pari-mutuel level of the RMTC grandstand.
